Our Biggest Adventure
[gallery] In early February Todd and I will be traveling to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, to pick up our son, Vander Ray Yeabsera. He is 17 months old and extremely handsome. He is currently in the House of Hope, a transitional orphanage, for Children Hope’s International Adoption agency. We will be in Africa approximately a half of month. During that time, we will get to know our “new” son, have our visa interview and visit several historic sites. Once we return, I will take the rest of the year off to be with Vander…then return to my teaching duties the following school-year. Ethiopia is one of the oldest countries in the world and Africa's second-most populous nation. Ethiopia has some of the oldest traces of human beings dating back to 1000 BC. The country is famous for the origin of the coffee bean, Olympic runners, and for the devastating famine. Addis Ababa is the capitol of Ethiopia and has the population of more than two million people.
